I’ve become overly cautious of mediocrity, paralyzed by its potential consequences. Having to explain simple ideas with concrete examples, while simultaneously being told that I’m too academic or perfectionistic, makes mediocrity seem almost impenetrable. It feels like there’s no hope of raising the standards.
